With the season’s peak for birding nearing We thought we’d like to let you know some of the activities you can explore and enjoy in the newly established reserve. It doesn’t matter if you’re exploring the various biomes, or honing your bird-hunting abilities, Revontuli Coast has something that everyone can enjoy.
Explore Finland’s Archipelago
Revontuli Coast is inspired by Finnish culture as well as geography, history and culture. It covers an incredible twenty-five square miles (64 square kilometers) and is home to diverse habitats like rock archipelagos, beaches as well as spruce forests, and fell hills. There are also plenty of iconic places of interest and landmarks to visit such as Finland’s national treasure sauna.
Hunt a Wide Range of Animal Species
Revontuli Coast features 19 different animal species. It’s the biggest roster that we’ve seen in a reserve and we are ecstatic about. With a revamped waterfowl program that is included in the release and with the large majority of the wildlife in the reserve being birds and ducks and upland birds, the chances for hunter are great. However, if hunting isn’t your thing, there are plenty of large game species like brown bears and moose can also be found on the park.
Keep your eyes hidden by a Water Layout Blind
Revontuli Coast also includes a flexible waterproof blind for water. The useful tool is able to shield your body from ducks, waterfowl and other upland birds when in the water. This is an extremely beneficial tool!
Hike in Breathtaking Northern night lights
Finland isn’t just perfect for hunting, but it is also home to a breathtaking natural phenomenon called northern lights. The stunning dancing waves in the night sky are something to behold. When you’re on one of the trails in the reserve in the evening ensure you glance upwards every now and again!
